Designers RAV4, it seems, really finally dismissed – in the sense, not home, but emotionally and documented. How else to explain the fact that the concept of FT-AC, shown last year, turned out to be almost an exact copy of the production model? Yes, with such an approach, it is unlikely that it will be possible to make housewives sit in RAV4 – but almost all the other “target groups” are unlikely to remain dissatisfied. Well, the Japanese are trying to delight the eye with gloss and gloss lovers with an exterior finish, which, however, is somewhat discordant with the image of the “space explorer”.
The bright image accompanies the logical transition of the model to the new GA-K platform of the TNGA architecture: this is exactly what makes the RAV4 related to the Camry, and at the same time to the Avalon and Lexus ES. However, this does not mean an absolute technical relationship – the machines simply scale according to a similar principle. AvtoVAZ never pleased us with interesting restyling (he pleases with machines one more time), so we are looking for any first-generation car. The Kalina-2 (VAZ 2192/2194) will be viewed somehow separately: this is a completely different car, technically more similar to Grant.
Usually in this place I tell which one is better to choose a motor or box, but this time the details will not be for obvious reasons. Here you need to try to find at least a more or less an entire body: in terms of the speed of decay, the VAZ car proudly competes not even with the Moskvich 2141, but with the German premium in the person of Mercedes W210. But if you repair a “tin” with a “lupat” there is some sense, then this is absolutely useless thing on Kalina: this car will not become a “classic” and in the near future there will be no fight for it at retro car auctions.

Five reasons to love and hate Daewoo Nexia
In the land of morning freshness, Opel Kadett turned first into Daewoo Racer, then into Cielo (and the car was delivered to a number of markets under the name Lemans and Pointer). In 1994, the car was upgraded to the Nexia name, and in 1995, the Daewoo assembly line in the Uzbek city of Asaka, not far from Andijan, began to work.
In those years, the Daewoo chaebol was actively expanding, and Nexia began to be assembled in Vietnam, Egypt and Romania, and since 1996 it stopped production at all in Korea, leaving it, however, in foreign branches. By the way, from 1996 to 1998, the SKD assembly was also carried out in Russia, at the Krasny Aksai plant in the Rostov region.
